It can be hard to manage a dress code, especially when you want to express yourself through your makeup or tattoos. The good news is that if you are creative enough, you may be able to get a bit of your sense of fashion and style in. Sometimes, you do have to be creative to pull it off, though.

Tips for Expression

Take a look at a few of the fun ways you can express yourself. Even when a dress code is in place, there are ways to work around it.

  • Know the limits. Find out what the dress code is. Read it. If you have questions, ask them so there is no confusion later on.
  • Choose clothing items that fit your fashion sense but do not break the rules. For example, choose makeup in the colors you like, but do not wear too much of it, if that is not allowed.
  • Are you struggling to find something that works? If you cannot find clothing that fits your sense of style, create your own. Creating your own clothing can be a fun learning experience. Learn how to do it so you can allow your expression to come through.
  • You can learn to make everything from baby costumes to prom dresses and even clothing for your toddlers that fit your style, even if there is a dress code to follow. You can also find a variety of products ready-made through specialty providers online.

Having fun with your clothing is something you can often do. However, most of the time, doing so in a way that does not offend others is important.

Expressing Yourself While Still Adhering to Dress Codes

If you live on the edge of fashion; that is, you don’t worry about what everyone else is wearing, you have your own style, and then that’s fine. You probably have a lot of fun.

However, you know that there are times when your extreme fashion tastes simply cannot be flaunted. You may not like it, but that doesn’t change it. So, you look for ways to continue expressing yourself even when faced with dress codes or times when you have to tone it down, at least a little.

Fortunately, there are ways you can do this without feeling as though you’re sacrificing your tastes. Here are a few examples of what you can do.

If you have tattoos, and the dress code of your school or workplace states that these must be covered, or if you have multiple piercings and only earrings or the very smallest, barely noticeable jewelry is allowed, simply come up with some creative ways to adhere to the policies.

For visible tattoos, keep a light wrap handy—something that will sufficiently cover the tattoo but won’t make you uncomfortable in warmer temperatures. Or simply use a large bandage to cover visible tattoos.

Remove piercings if your dress code dictates it. You can wait until the last minute before you walk in the door in the morning to do this, and re-insert them as soon as you are out the door in the afternoon. The holes won’t grow up in that short amount of time, and knowing that you have your jewelry with you ready to be popped back in will make you happy.

How To Keep Your Hair Healthy

With the products produced today, it is difficult to find products that are healthy for your hair. Even though there are many dangerous products for your hair, there are plenty of ways to avoid damage. What can you do to keep healthy hair?
One of the best ways to keep your hair healthy is to avoid chemically altering your hair. It’s nice to change your hair color or get a perm every now and then, but every time you do this, it damages your hair more and more. Try to stay away from chemicals that will damage your hair.
Along with chemicals, avoid using a hot tool every day. Using a curling iron or straightener every now and then won’t cause much damage to your hair. If you use a curling iron, straight iron, or blow dryer set to high every day, you risk receiving heat damage, which will cause your hair to become frizzy and unhealthy. If you must use a blow dryer, try to buy one that you can set to cool. This takes a bit longer to dry, but it will help you avoid heat damage.
Natural shampoos and conditioners are much healthier for your hair than regular shampoo. There are several companies that now make their products with natural ingredients while they still make the type of shampoo you would normally use. You may pay a bit more for this, but it’s worth keeping your hair healthy for.
Get a trim about every six months. This will get rid of the split ends and keep the ends of your hair healthy. When you get split ends, they break off, sometimes at the same rate that your hair grows, so it’s hard for your hair to gain any length. When you get a trim, it gets rid of those split ends and allows your hair to grow before the split ends return.

1000 Ways To Use A Hair Tie

A hair tie is such a simple thing. Almost a rubber-band, it can be used for numerous purposes. Most of us know how to put up a simple ponytail, but there are plenty of other hairstyles that can be created with one simple hair tie.

A hair tie can be used to hold up a simple messy bun. Decide where you want your bun to sit on your head, whether it’s on the top of your head or a low side bun. Brush all your hair to the area of your head that you want your messy bun to sit. Wrap the hair tie around your hair once. Then twist all of your hair until it starts curling. Allow your hair to curl until it has turned into a bun. Randomly tie the hairpiece around pieces of the bun. To finish the bun, tug on pieces of the bun to loosen it and give it a messy look.

Another simple hairstyle that can be made from one hair tie is a braid. Brush and gather your hair at the base of your scull. You can wear this hairstyle either in the middle or to either side. Divide your hair into three even sections. Take one outside section and cross it over the middle section so that it is now in the middle. Then take the opposite outside section and cross it over the new middle piece. Alternate this way until you get to the end of your hair, then fasten with your hair tie.

There are plenty of other hairstyles you can do with one simple hair tie. These hairstyles aren’t only easy but they are cute, especially when you’re on the go. You can try to experiment with different hairstyles until you find ones that are easy enough and work for you. With one simple hair tie, you can make a variety of hairstyles.
